  • The qualitative and semiquantitative analysis of vanadium and aluminum nitrides (VN,AIN) using thermal evolved gas analysis (TEA) are presented. TEA is fast, non laborious and cheap method commonly used in steel industry for determination of total nitrogen content in steel and other ferrous as well as nonferrous materials. The extension of this method for phase analysis of nitrides requires detailed study of the behavior of pure nitides and their mixtures in the course of TEA.
