Description	The paper deals with an application of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method to efficiency evaluation of student research projects realized in the Faculty of Economics, VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava in reference years 2010, 2011 and 2012. The aim of the paper is to examine the suitability of quantitative DEA approach to analyse a degree of efficiency achieved in individual student research projects (SRPs) based on input - output relation approach. The purpose of this paper is to examine the possibility of measuring efficiency in the context of university research projects. In the theoretical part, specific aspects and various approaches (included DEA) for measuring efficiency in the field of higher education are explored. The empirical part is targeting to efficiency analysis and evaluation of SRPs' efficiency level by selected CCR model and comparison of SRPs by Andersen-Petersen's model (APM). The final part offers a comprehensive analysis of results.
