Description	The article aims at showing the nexuses between wider political-spatial changes and Ostrava's development from chronological perspective. It is only seldom stated that in reality, urban trajectories are often shaped by decisions and policies created and implemented by distant central actors. Such kind of 'external influence' played the major role also in Ostrava's history. At the same time, Ostrava to certain extent represents an embodiment of urban industrial problems in Central Europe. (en) Článek se zaměřuje na vazby mezi širšími politicko-prostorovými změnami a rozvojem Ostravy a to z časové perspektivy. Pouze zřídka se přiznává, že vývojové trajektorie měst jsou často utvářeny rozhodnutími a politikami tvořenými a implementovanými vzdálenými centrálními aktéry. Takovýto druh 'externího vlivu' sehrál hlavní roli také v historii Ostravy. Ostrava také současně do jisté míry představuje ztělesnění aktuálních problémů průmyslových měst ve střední Evropě. (cs)
