Description	This contribution is devoted to the four year stay of the Czech economist F. L. Chleborad in the North-Moravian and Silesian region. Chleborad was one of the most famous and educated Czechs at the end of the 19th century. His name is closely related to the cooperative movement in the Czech Lands and to the Czech economic emancipation. His book %22The System of the National Economy%22 (1869) represents the first systematic interpretation of economics in the Czech language. The contribution itself outlines the main Chleborad´s activities in the Ostrava´s region. They are concentrated on the stimulation of the Czech enterprise in the region governed by foreign (mainly German) capital and the promotion of the %22Czechness%22 in the region (en) Příspěvek je věnován čtyřletému pobytu českého ekonoma F. L. Chleborada v severomoravském regionu. Chleborad byl jedním z nejvzdělanějších Čechů na konci 19. století. Jeho jméno je úzce spjato s rozvojem družstevního hnutí v českých zemích a s českou ekonomickou emancipací. Jeho kniha %22Soustava národního hospodářství politického%22 (1869) představuje prvou systematickou interpretaci ekonomie v českém jazyce. Příspěvek nastiňuje hlavní Chleboradovy aktivity v ostravském regionu. Jsou zaměřeny především na stimulaci českého podnikání a podporu %22českého%22 charakteru regionu
