Description	Nowadays, it is about 25 years when Peter Chen published (1976) the principles of Entity-Relationship (ER) model which became (with some modifications) then commonly utilised tool for conceptual data modelling. Ten years later T. Teorey and co-authors presented the Extended ER model involving generalisation (i.e. inheritance) as a major extension of Chen's original modelling technique. Further attempts of the improvements in this direction have followed: Nijssen's NIAM model led to the development of specific modelling language, the IDEF1X methodology brought a modified graphical expressions including composite entities and associative relationships %22whole-part%22. The advent of object-oriented modelling gurus in the second half of 1980s presented a number of specific notations (Booch, Coad/Yourdon, Shlaer/Mellor, Jacobson, Rumbaugh) which meant parallel (competing) possibilities of object-oriented conceptual data modelling.
