Description	Coal is the largest source of fossil fuels on Earth. In the Czech Republic there are rich deposits of coal and methane, geologically verified in Beskydy. Currently in the Czech Republic it is considered the possibility of extracting methane from coal mines in Frenštát. It can be used as a substitute for natural gas in one of the alternative methods for producing the iron as a materiál for the direct reduction of iron ore or pig iron smelting processes. This gas can be used as a substitute fuel for blast furnace process. Methods of this gas utilization and environmental fees will reduce the burden on the environment in the not extracted methane released into the atmosphere resulting in the extraction of coal, which will at the same time reduce the greenhouse effect. (en) Węgiel jest największym źródłem z paliw kopalnych na Ziemi. W Czechach występują bogate złoża węgla i metanu, geologicznie zweryfikowane pod Beskidami. Obecnie w Republice Czeskiej rozpatruje się możliwość wydobywania metanu z kopalni węgla kamiennego w Frenštátu. Może on być stosowany jako substytut gazu w jednym z alternatywnych sposobów wytwarzania żelaza, jako materiał do bezpośredniej redukcji rud żelaza lub procesów wytapiania surówki żelaza. Gaz ten może być stosowany jako paliwo zastępcze do procesu wielkopiecowego. Sposoby wykorzystania tego gazu oraz opłaty środowiskowe pozwolą na zmniejszenie obciążenia środowiska w części niewydobywanego metanu uwalnianego do atmosfery, powstającego w procesie wydobycia węgla, co pozwoli jednocześnie na zmniejszenie efektu cieplarnianego.
