  • Abstrakt EN: Within the bounds of given work the special industrial experiment which allows to analyze a metal flow behavior during hot rolling has been performed at the continuous small-section rolling mill of Třinecké železárny. The process of a 120 mm diameter round steel bar rolling has been stopped then the material has been parted and taken out from the grooves. Fragments of a bar which at the moment of a mill stop were inside the calibers have been carefully measured and analyzed subsequently. Generalized plane strain approach has been applied to simulate the process. This method is applied to modeling the three dimensional problem of shape rolling by solving in approximately using 2D finite element method. The results of measurements were compared to the prognosis constructed by means of computer simulation. Using of this simulation methodic allows to obtain a significant savings of computing time and required memory. The results allow to draw several conclusions about applied model and oppor
