  • Na základě zkoušek korozního praskání v roztocích chloridů se jeví slitina 800 (ocel NiCrTiAl33-21) ve stavu po rozpouštěcím žíhání v porovnání s jinými korozivzdornými ocelemi jako velmi odolná proti koroznímu praskání se zřetelem na obsah niklu. Snížení obsahu uhlíku ovlivňuje její odolnost v tomto stavu jen nevýrazně. Zcitlivění tohoto materiálu v kritické oblasti za nízkých teplot vede ke zvýšení jeho náchylnosti k mezikrystalovému napadení a koroznímu praskání přecházejícímu z vnitrokrystalového na mezikrystalové. Tyto poznatky vedly ke sledování změn na hranicích zrn a zajištění odolnosti proti mezikrystalovému napadení. Dlouhodobé vystavení nízkým teplotám (např. 450oC - vzorek po 30 000h z průmyslové pece) vede k výraznému zcitlivění slitiny 800. Elektrochemickou potenciokinetickou reaktivační metodou (EPR-testem) byla jednoznačně prokázána citlivost tohoto vzorku a odolnost u vzorku pracujícího při 650oC/30 000h pouze slabě náchylného nebo necitlivého.
