Description	Vzduchová bublina stoupající v protiproudu vody (cs) Bubbles rising in liquid batch can be observed for comparatively short period only. However, the long-term observation can be done in a countercurrent flow. Aim of this study is to observe rising of medium size ellipsoidal bubbles. These bubbles are pulsating and their path oscillates as well. The path pattern is zig-zag or helicoidal. Simple model of force balance has been suggested to explain the nature of the shape and path oscillations. Properties of this movement are evaluated statistically from experimental data. Typical values for the bubbles of equivalent diameter 4 - 10 mm are following: average rising velocity 0.2-0.3 m s-1, maximum horizontal velocity 0.15 m s-1, oscillation frequency 6 s-1.
