Description	Beyond rod steel, especially flat bars and shaped bars are rolled in Medium-Section rolling mill of ISPAT NOVÁ HUŤ a.s. The GOLEM equipment is used for direct cooling of rod steel. This equipment isn't usable for direct cooling of flat bars and shaped bars unfortunately. Therefore flat bars and shaped bars are rolled without direct cooling in Medium-Section rolling mill till now. There is effort to increase mechanical properties and improve flatness of flat bars and shaped bars, what can be realised by equipment for direct cooling of flat bars and shaped bars setting up. Fundamental problem in direct cooling equipment project is limited building space in Medium-Section rolling mill. Direct cooling equipment positioning is limited by rolling mill layout, there are only several short places for direct cooling equipment allocation. It makes impossible to cooling bars for necessary time and leads to requirement of higher rate cooling medium, however the ferrite-pearlite structure must be kept.
