Description
  • The world demand, especially on energy raw materials, is increasing according to growing human needs. This trend is reflected by increasing prices of these commodities, which entails adverse effect on individual country economies. The resources and technologies for their acquisition among countries differ as well as the ways of energy production. However, the right choice of raw materials and technologies still remains crucial issue for the development of all country economies. Authors of the paper in cooperation with leading experts from energy sector carried out a unique qualitative and quantitative research focused on energy mix of the Czech Republic. The research based on multi-criteria decision-making analysis aimed to optimize the energy mix. The analysis was prepared using the Delphi method and Operations Research methods. In the research framework eight technological variants of energy production were analyzed considering available energy sources in the Czech Republic. Variants were assessed on basis of selected sets of criteria including both benefit and risk criteria. The Weighted Sum Approach method was used for multi-criteria evaluation of the particular variants. Further the Fuller´s method was used to estimate the weights of single criteria. The resulting effect was determined as the difference between the benefits and the risks each option occurs. The overall evaluation regarding all variants was carried out by assessment of benefits, risks and resulting effects set for each variant.
