Description	The paper deals with virtual models of technology processes and other activities. Virtual models are designed for the control of mining process, planning, modeling of safety and operating situations. For the control purposes models can be interconnected with automated systems of technological units or their technical models. All modeling and simulation data are stored in information system. Nowadays not only distributed information systems are used. Many particular ISs become interconnected not only id production units, but data sources from other systems (suppliers, logistic, environment, local authorities etc.) are covered. This way Internet of Things as reference model for this kind of utilization is worldwide developed. The paper deals with virtual models of technology processes and other activities.
