Description	It is mineral raw materials standing at the very beginning of the manufacturing process that serve as a basis for the economy of each advanced industrialized country. Especially fuels and energy minerals will remain one of basic preconditions for the development of domestic and world economies. The most important factors that will influence the next world demand for particular mineral raw materials are probably as follows: the growth of population, a common increase in the technical level and the standard of living and an increased consumption of mineral raw materials per inhabitant. (en) Ze světového hlediska je v současné době nejdůležitější palivoenergetickou surovinou ropa. Zejména současný a také možný budoucí vývoj jejich světových cen je předmětem velkého zájmu ekonomů, politiků, energetiků a geologů . Cena ropy dlouhodobě se velmi pravděpodobně nebude pohybovat pod hranicí 30 USD za barel. Podstatně vzrostou i ceny zemního plynu, které ceny ropy s jistým fázovým posunem kopírují. Začnou být reálné úvahy hledající alternativy ropy jako zdroje kapalných paliv.
