Description	The PMU (Phasor Measurement Unit) measures instant values of voltage and current signals and by using using a common time source for synchronization of multiple PMUs it provides data of synchronous phasors of voltages and currents in defined location within transmission power grid. Because provided phasors are precisely synchronized, synchronized comparison of two or more quantities is possible, in real time. These comparisons can be used to assess transmission system conditions. Some PMU features are described in IEEE C37.118-2005 standard. The IEEE C37.118-2005 is primarily focused on communication with the PMU and precision of the measurement at steady state. PMU manufacturers declare compliance with IEEE C37.118- 2005, which doesn't mean correct behaviour of the PMU for dynamic changes of voltage or current signals. The new version of IEEE C37.118 is currently under development. This standard should contain as addition the description of PMU testing. This paper describes implementation and results of PMU tests focused on dynamic properties of PMU. These tests were performed on tester designed and implemented on the base of virtual instrumentation.
