Description	In this paper, the authors are trying to complexly assess usage of LED tubes as replacement of linear fluorescent tubes. In the first part, advantages of LED tubes deployment are shortly described. Then comparison of its connection from electrical and safety point of view is done. Results of thermal measurement held in dust-proof luminaire follow. Based on this a confirmation of useful lifetime is provided. Light sources were measured in louvre and dust proof luminaires to compare luminances and light intensity distribution curves.
