Description
  • This paper deals with mathematical modeling of thermal load of sensors with distributed parameters. Practicularly it deals with thermal effects on a sensor, studying modified sensor of oil level. It is used a car, located in lower part of motor pan. Thermal field of a sensor is explored in this text, for concrete temperatures of oil and ambient. Upper part of the sensor is surrounded by the oil in the pan while the lower part is affected by ambient temperature of the surroundings. Sensor includes inner electronic circuits that serve for sensor control. With high temperature the electronics of the sensor could be destroyed. Concerning the mathematical description of the problem, an analytical approach could be used in this case. However, it results in solving a set of complex differential equations quite difficult to handle and compute. Instead of this, numerical methods are chosen to reach a solution. In particular, the finite element method (FEM) was used in this project by means of the ANSYS Workben
