Description
| - Other properties than hardness, like corrosion resistance, appearance, reflexibility, etc. are in focus in the case of common electrodeposits used as corrosion protection of mechanical parts, which is undoubtedly the most prevailing use of those processes. However, hardness is the most important property, if the coatings are used to protect details against wear and the formerly mentioned properties are of marginal importance. The main task of research is then to develop processes having outstanding mechanical properties, also at elevated temperatures. New generations of electrodeposits belong to the promising ways of functional protection of mechanical parts in extreme conditions.
