Description	The environment may not represent only endangered target system, which can be affected by dangerous substance release, but can be also a significant source of risk. It is an active environment in the event of floods which can seriously endanger the facility of dangerous substance and cause considerable financial and material losses including significant losses to the environment. The objective of this contribution is to compare the complexity of the evaluation of selected European methodologies for their application on the same prediction model of dangerous substance release from the facility to the environment and point out the need to assess the risks also from the perspective of an active environment. The overview and research have been done in wider cooperation of partners participated in the Czech project TA01021374 New Technologies for Environmental Protection against the Negative Consequences of Natural Mass Movement.
