Description
  • Steel arches that are used in mining and underground engineering are exposed to extreme load that often leads to the plastic deformation of the structure. The paper presents calculation of the specific strain energy curves of the open cross-sections (i.e. dependence between specific strain energy of the cross-section and the bending moment and the normal force). The energy curves can be used to determine energy absorbed by arch structure during rock bump.
