Description
| - This paper is focused on showing a possible approach to the serviceability assessment of structures, based on fully probabilistic concept with application of a simulation technique. One of these alternative approaches is the Simulation based Reliability Assessment (SBRA) that is being developed as a tool utilizing the spread of personal computers to every designer's desk. Basic concepts of SBRA with regard to safety, serviceability, and durability assessment are explained briefly at first, and then the attention is focused on problems concerning especially the serviceability assessment. The SBRA approach is demonstrated on an example concerning vibrations of a floor, and indicated on another three examples.
