Description
  • In Jun 2008 the JSR-286 was established as a successor of JSR-168 standard. However most applications are developed under JSR-168 standard and there is no easy way to switch between these standards. The first part of the paper describes what the portal technology is and how it is connected to service oriented architecture (SOA). We mentioned some other example of the portal implementation and we introduced the typical portlet implementation. We also identify the most common errors in architecture of the JSR-168 standard. Second part of the paper introduces a new methodology focused on migration from information system based on the JSR-168 standard to portal solution build on the JSR-286 standard. We formalize the proposed methodology using the UML activity diagram. The last part of the paper verifies of the proposal on the real example of the portal application and concludes achieved results.
