Description
| - Being involved in regulation of cell cycle, cell elongation and differentiation plant hormones cytokinins and auxins play a central role in control of plant development and responses of plants to environmental stimuli. Identification of Agrobacterium tumefaciens and Arabidopsis thaliana genes involved in cytokinin biosynthesis and metabolism allowed experimental manipulation of endogenous cytokinin levels resulting in modulation of cytokinin/auxin quantitative ratios in plant cells and plant phenotype. Interestingly, exploitation of this knowledge for %22clone and play%22 studies have mostly confirmed the results of previous %22spray and prey%22 experiments that determined the biological functions of these two classes of plant hormones.

- V práci je formulován model mechanismů řídících hormonální homeostázi v rostlinných buňkách se zvláštním ohledem na cytokininy a auxiny. Jeho fungování v rostlinách je experimentálně dokladováno regulací aktivity cytokinin oxidázy/dehydrogenázy a konverzí aktivních cytokininů a jejich neaktivní O- N-glukosidy v odpovědi na zvýšenou biosyntézu cytokininů při expresi isopentenyl transferáz, t.j. genů zapojených do jejich biosyntézy.
