  • The epoxy networks based on poly(propylene oxide) chains crosslinked by diglycidyl ether of Bisphenol A and reinforced by polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes (POSS) provide typical example of polymer nanocomposites with hierarchical architecture. In addition to characterizing the epoxy-POSS composites, this contribution demonstrates valuable applications of solid state NMR spectroscopy. The size of domains in the nanocomposites was determined by high-speed MAS 1H-1H spin-diffusion experiments, offering an alternative to the established methods like SAXS, EM or AFM. Investigations of molecular dynamics yielded information making possible the assignment of the contribution of molecular segments to thermomechanical properties like glass transition temperature and storage shear modulus, and to predict the products’ ability to absorb mechanical energy.

  • Epoxidové sítě na bázi polypropylenoxidových řetězců síťovaných diglycidyl etherem Bisphenolu A a modifikované POSS jednotkami představují typické nanokompozitní systémy nové generace s hierarchickou architekturou. Předložená práce uvádí a diskutuje nejenom základní strukturu POSS-epoxidových nanokompozitů, ale také představuje možnosti aplikace NMR spektroskopie pevného stavu. Stanovení velikosti různých domén pomocí spin-difuzních experimentů představuje zajímavou alternativu k tradičním technikám rtg. difrakce (SAXS) nebo elektronové mikroskopie. Přesný popis rozsahu segmentových pohybů jednotlivých složek pak umožnil korelovat některé makroskopické vlastnosti jako je teplota skelného přechodu nebo modul pružnosti s chováním hmoty na molekulární úrovni.
