  • Tvorba komplexu mezi butylamoniovým iontem a 1,3/alternujícím tetrapropoxy-kalix[4]arenem v CD2Cl2 byla prokázána pomocí NMR s rovnovážnou konstantou 5.91x103 l/mol. Na rozdíl od analogického komplexu s hydroniovým iontem H3O+ je zde iontová výměna poněkud pomalejší a je výhradně intermolekulární, tedy nejsou zde přítomny intramolekulární přeskoky iontu mezi dvěma možnými vaznými místy. In contrast to an analogous complex with hydronium ion H3O+, the ion exchange is somewhat slower and exclusively intermolecular, i.e. there is no intramolecular hopping of the ion between the two possible binding sites.
