Description
  • The RTPP/ABS (rubber toughened polypropylene/poly(acrylonitrile-co-butadiene-co-styrene) blends, both non-compatibilized and compatibilized with PP-g-PS (polypropylene-g-polystyrene), were prepared by melt mixing in a Brabender Plasti-Corder. As the torque ratio of RTPP and ABS was about 2, phase co-continuity in the blends was achieved at ABS volume fractions around 0.16, which was evidenced by both microscopic analysis and mechanical testing. Selected mechanical properties (tensile modulus, yield strength and tensile impact strength) were confronted with a predictive model. Reasonable correspondence between experiment and theory was achieved for tensile modulus and yield strength, whereas the experimentally determined tensile impact strength of the blends was lower than theoretical prediction.

  • Polymerní směsi RTPP/ABS (polypropylen RTPP/poly(akrylonitril-co-butadien-co-stryren), nekompatibilizované i kompatibilizované pomocí PP-g-PS (polypropylen-g-polystyren) byly připraveny mísením v tavenině v Brabender Plasti-Corderu. Vzhledem k poměru kroutících momentů RTPP:ABS = 2 vykazovaly připravené směsi ko-kontinuální strukturu již při objemovém podílu ABS = 0,16, což bylo prokázáno jak mikroskopickou analýzou, tak měřením mechanických vlastností. Vybrané mechanické vlastnosti (modul pružnosti v tahu, napětí na mezi kluzu, houževnatost) byly porovnány s predikčním modelem. Pro modul pružnosti a napětí na mezi kluzu byla získána rozumná shoda mezi experimentem a teorií, zatímco naměřené houževnatosti směsí vykazovaly výrazně nižší hodnoty než model předpovídal. (cs)
