Description	The results presented here show that HPMA copolymer-based drug delivery systems accumulate effectively in different types of tumors. In addition, they demonstrate that hyperthermia increases the tumor accumulation of the copolymers depending on the tumor model used, and that radiotherapy increases their tumor concentrations independent of the tumor model used. Based on these findings, we conclude that radiotherapy is an effective means for improving the tumor accumulation of (polymeric) drug delivery systems, and we propose that the combination of carrier-based chemotherapy with radiotherapy holds significant potential for implementation in combined modality anticancer therapy. (en) Presentované výsledky ukazují, že systémy pro dopravu léčiv založené na HPMA kopolymerech se efektivně akumulují v různých typech nádorů. Hypertermie zvyšuje akumulaci kopolymerů v nádoru v závislosti na použitém nádorovém modelu, zatímco při radioterapii akumulace vzrůstá nezávisle na nádorové linii. Na základě těchto poznatků lze usuzovat, že radioterapie je účinný prostředek pro zlepšení akumulace polymerních systémů pro dopravu léčiv v nádorech. Chemoterapie založená na kombinaci polymerního nosičového systému léčiv a radioterapie má významné možnosti při kombinovaném způsobu protirakovinné léčby. (cs)
