Description
| - Basic stabilization applied in the studied polyolefins and HIPS has different efficiencies, depending on the aging conditions. It was shown that LDPE, oven-aged for 7 days at 100 °C could not be used for reprocessing because of too low a viscosity; a suitable combination of diamine and phenol stabilizers suppressed degradation both during aging and subsequent reprocessing. High impact polystyrene showed two-phase oxidation, where oxidation of polybutadiene component took place initially, leading to crosslinking, whereas the polystyrene matrix remained almost intact during a much longer period of time.

- Základní stabilizace u studovaných polyolefinů a houževnatého polystyrenu (HIPS) má různou účinnost v závislosti na podmínkách stárnutí. Bylo prokázáno, že LDPE stárnutý v sušárně při 100 °C po dobu 7 dní nelze již dále zpracovat vzhledem k jeho příliš nízké viskozitě; vhodná kombinace diaminu a fenolických stabilizátorů potlačila degradaci během stárnutí i opětovného zpracování. U houževnatého polystyrenu probíhala oxidace ve dvou fázích; nejdříve došlo k oxidativnímu poškození polybutadienové komponenty za vzniku síťovaných struktur, zatímco polystyrenová matrice zůstala téměř nezměněná po mnohem delší dobu.
