  • Z pohledu nerovnovážné termodynamiky jsou analyzovány elektrody, difúzní a katalytické vrstvy palivového článku a procesy difúze protonů a molekul vody skrze polymerní membránu (PEM) palivového článku. Je uvedena zjednodušená jednorozměrná analýza membrány a elektrod. Na jejím základě je odhadnuta maximální teoretická účinnost palivového článku, a je odvozen vztah pro tzv. charakteristický rozměr polymerní membrány. (cs)
  • Electrodes, gas diffusion layers, catalyst layers, and the diffusion of protons and water through the proton exchange mem- brane (PEM) are analyzed from the irreversible thermodynamics point of view. An attempt to analyze the whole membrane-electrodes assembly (MEA) of the fuel cell in a simplified (1D) approximation is presented. In terms of our simplified model the maximum efficiency of a fuel cell is evaluated, and a relation for the characteristic thickness of a PEM membrane is derived.
