  • The paper presents an analysis of some aspects which delimit the usability and validity of the simplified model of cavitation erosion in pumps developed by the authors. The model was developed in order to predict the effects of erosion caused by the collapses of cavitation bubbles near the blade surface of water pump impellers. It is based on the estimation of the forces emitted by the collapsing bubbles on the surrounding liquid. This model and a model of dynamic behavior of an ensemble of bubbles of different sizes is implemented in the 3D numerical solver used in SIGMA Research and Development Institute, s.r.o. for the simulation of viscous flows in the blade-to-blade region. The results obtained by the numerical simulation are assessed from the point of view of their applicability to various cavitation regimes.

  • Příspěvek analyzuje některé aspekty, které vymezují rozsah použitelnosti a platnosti zjednodušeného numerického modelu kavitační eroze v čerpadlech, vyvinutého autory. Model byl vyvinut za účelem predikce erozních účinků kolabujících kavitačních bublin na lopatky oběžných kol vodních čerpadel. Je založen na odhadu silových účinků kolabujících bublin na okolní kapalinu v blízkosti povrchu lopatky. Model je společně s modelem dynamického chování souboru různě velkých bublin implementován do třírozměrného numerického kódu pro simulaci vazkého proudění v mezilopatkovém prostoru oběžného kola čerpadla, který se používá v SIGMA Výzkumném a vývojovém ústavu s.r.o. v Lutíně. Získané výsledky jsou kriticky hodnoceny z hlediska jejich aplikovatelnosti pro různé režimy kavitujícího proudění. (cs)
