Description
| - Ecdysteroid glycosides are found in both animals and plants. The chromatographic behavior of these molecules is characteristic, as they appear much more polar than their corresponding free aglycones, whereas the presence of glycosidic moieties has a very limited (if any) impact on polarity when using reversed-phase HPLC. Biological activity is greatly reduced because the presence of this bulky substituent probably impairs the interaction with ecdysteroid receptors.

- Glykosidy ekdysteroidů se nachází jak v živočiších tak i v rostlinách. Mají charakteristické chromatografické vlastnosti. Jsou omnoho polárnější než jejich aglykony v NP-HPLC, ovšem v RP-HPLC glykosylová skupina nemá téměř žádny vliv na polaritu. Jejich biologické aktivity jsou převážně slabší, pravděpodobně proto, že přítomnost objemné glykosylové skupiny brání interakci s ekdysteroidním receptorem. (cs)
