Description
  • Polymeric composites with a high content of mineral fl ame retardants posses significantly improved fi re resistance in comparison to pure polymeric matrix. Nevertheless, the high fi ller content causes consequential modifi cation of fi nal properties. Within this work, the characterization of high-filled LLDPE/EVA compounds containing several commercially available types of magnesium hydroxides was executed. Flammability and mechanical properties of composites and compound filterability were evaluated. A remarkable effect of specific surface, of the kind of surface treatment, as well as of a different producer on the properties of end-products was demonstrated.
