  • Styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) is a traditional material in the rubber industry with wide range of applications, mainly as an essential component of car tyres. Using plant data we created mathematical model for dynamic simulation of SBR production in the cascade of up to twelve reactors via the cold emulsion polymerization process. Main aims of this contribution are: (i) to introduce listener to the theory of emulsion polymerization, (ii) to present the methodology of mathematical model development, and (iii) to demonstrate how simulation results can be utilized during the optimization of SBR production process.
