  • The attachment of the bubbles onto a collecting surface or sphere is a ubiquitous natural phenomenon, playing a critical role in numerous practical processes. In this project the surface properties of two types of silanized glass were studied, special attention was paid to the determination of surface energy. As a testing set of liquids were used solutions of propanol in water. Two types of silanized surface were used. Firstly, the silanization was done in Silanization Solution I containing 5% dimethyldichlorosilane in heptane for 24 hours. Secondly, the 2% solution of (3-Mercaptopropyl)triethoxysilane in toluene was used.
