  • In this contribution we continue our effort to better understand the dynamics of foaming of polystyrene particles and the evolution of the foam structure. A systematic study of PS particle foaming in dependence on the pressure of the impregnation agent (pentane) has been conducted. Experimental observations of particle foaming are interpreted in connection with our previous measurements of concentration-dependent diffusion of pentane in PS. Moreover, mathematical model of pentane diffusion in polystyrene driven by the gradient of chemical potential rather than the gradient of concentration has been formulated.

  • V tomto příspěvku pokračujeme v úsilí o lepší pochopení dynamiky vypěňování částic polystyrenu a vývoje pěnové struktury. Byla provedena systematická studie vypěňování částice PS v závislosti na tlaku impregnačního činidla (pentanu). Experimentální pozorování vypěňování částice jsou interpretovány ve spojení s našimi dřívějšími měřeními koncentračně-závislé difuzivity pentanu v PS. (cs)
