  • Knowledge of vapor pressures is indispensable for separation processes and for the assessment of the fate and behavior of environmental contaminants. Experimental determination of vapor pressure in the low pressure region is very difficult; therefore published data show significant scatter and are often influenced by systematic errors. Moreover, vapour pressures for many new compounds used in advanced technologies are not known at all. From environmental point of view, many compounds, which were considered as %22non-volatile%22 are widely distributed in the environment; their vapour pressure is in many cases not known, too. A survey of activities aimed at obtaining recommended data on vapour pressure for several families of technologically or environmentally important compounds is presented. Measurements of vapour pressure by several static apparatuses is described and main sources of systematic errors are discussed.

  • Znalost tlaku nasycených par je nezbytná pro separační procesy a pro vyhodnocení distribuce a osudu látek v životním prostředí. Experimentální stanovení tlaku nasycených par v nízkotenzní oblasti je velmi obtížné. V důsledku toho vykazují publikovaná data značný rozptyl a jsou často zatížena systematickými chybami. Pro mnohé nově syntetizované látky používané při pokročilých technologiích nejsou data známa vůbec. Mnohé látky, v minulosti označované jako %22netěkavé%22 jsou běžně nacházeny v životním prostředí, přičemž jejich tlak nasycených par není v řadě případů znám. Tento příspěvek shrnuje aktivitu naší laboratoře při stanovování doporučených hodnot tlaku nasycených par pro několik skupin látek významných z hlediska životního prostředí či hlediska technologického. Je popsáno několik aparatur pro měření tlaku nasycených par statickou metodou a jsou diskutovány hlavní zdroje systematických chyb. (cs)
