  • Předložený článek zkoumá experimentálně a metodami matematického modelování možnost ovlivňování stability reakční fronty, která se šíří vertikálním směrem v tzv. Hele-Shaw cele, vnějším elektrickým polem. Bylo zjištěno, že stoupající fronta, která se šíří směrem ke kladné elektrodě, je v elektrickém poli stabilnější, zatímco, je více nestabilní, když se šíří směrem k záporné elektrodě. Sestupná reakční fronta, která je stabilní v podmínkách bez vloženého elektrického pole, se stane nestabilní, pokud se šíří k záporné elektrodě. (cs)
  • The presented paper investigates the possibility of influencing the stability of arsenous acid-iodate fronts by an external d.c. electric field (EF) applied on the cell. The evaluation of the experimental results was made by both visual comparison and by using dispersion curves. In the mathematical modeling we obtained the dispersion curves for the ascending reaction front and performed numerical simulations of spatially 2-dimensional system. It is shown that the buoyancy instability, observed on ascending fronts, can be suppressed (facilitated) by EF if the ascending front propagates towards the positive (negative) electrode. The descending fronts (studied only in experiments), stable under no EF conditions, were found to become unstable when they propagate towards the negative electrode.
