Description	Absorption and vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) spectra of the title compound were measured and analyzed, in order to determine its absolute configuration and prevailing conformations. The spectra were interpreted on the basis of ab initio simulations. The findings facilitate synthesis of biologically active derivatives of the parent compound and reveal the potential of the VCD technique for studies of similar systems.
