  • The biotrickling filter used in the study had the following parameters: ID of 150 mm, bed height of 1 m, Pall rings of 15 mm from polypropylene with a hydrophilized surface served as a packing material. The study was divided into three parts. Firstly, the hydrodynamic characteristics of the system were studied. In order to describe mixing intensity, an evaluation of the mixing time using the pulse injection of a tracer was carried out. The effects of liquid circulation rates, (counter current) gas flow rates and the location of the tracer input on the mixing time were tested. The second part of the study was focused on biological performance of the reactor. A defined composition of inoculum comprising six bacterial primary degraders of aromatic hydrocarbons (toluene, xylene) was immobilized on the packing. During an acclimation period, the reactor was loaded by toluene. This acclimation lasted 15 days. Then toluene, xylene and also a toluene/xylene mixture were fed to the column. Toluene was removed

  • Parametry biotrickling filtru jsou následující: ID-150 mm, výška lože-1m, 15mm Pallovi kroužky. Studie byla rozdělena do tří částí: Hydrodynamická charakteristika, biologické změny během provozu reaktoru. Během náběhové fáze byl trickling filter zatěžován pouze toluenem. Poté byla naměřena zátěžová charakteristika s toluenem a následně s xylenem. Nakonec byl zkoumán vliv poměru toluenu a xylenu ve směsi na degradační účinnost jednotlivých polutantů. Třetí část byla věnována změnám ve složení biofilmu po 7 měsících degradace toluenu a xylenu. (cs)
