  • Phospholipid signalling pathway is one of the basic signalling mechanism in animal as well as plant cells. Phospholipases and phospholipids are the key components of this system. Phospholipases are divided based on the site of cleavage of the phospholipid molecules to phospholipase A2, C and D. The aim of this study was to established sophisticated method which let us to analyse products of signalling phospholipases in its entirety with one method. Phospholipid signalling pathway was studied insitu in tobacco cell suspension culture BY-2 using different types of fluorescently labelled (BODIPY) phosphatidylcholine. Incorporation of the fluorescent substrates to tobacco cell membranes was monitored by fluorescent microscopy and confirmed by pla smolysis. Fluorescent products of cleaved phosphatidylcholine were analysed by HP-TLC and newly developed HPLC methods.
