Description
  • Increased gas humidity can cause water condensation, which leads to the formation of hydrates when gas is transported in a pipeline. It is therefore necessary to dry the gas before it is transported over long distances. A modern method for drying gas is with the use of appropriate adsorptionmaterials, which can almost completely remove water vapor from the gas. Various commercially available adsorbents for removingwater vapor from model gas mixtures at elevated pressures up to 4.8 MPawere tested in the laboratory. Tests were then also performed on the efficiency of the thermal regeneration of adsorbents saturated with water. The results of the measurements were used in a mathematical model for the drying process, and for transferring the data to a device of operational size.
