Description
  • The project involves the study of the efficiency of the glass melting space using CFD mathematical model. The model results are used to calculate the value of ?space utilization? with respet to refractory particle dissolution and bubble removal. This topic is included in the project of an international R&D consortium with the aim to increase energy efficiency in the container glass melting by 25%. The goal, to strive for less than 3GJ energy consumption per ton of molten glass shall be achieved with a combination of evolutionary and revolutionary approaches in furnace design, melting path design and batch conditioning.
