Description
| - Mathematical model of steam cracker allows to simulate pyrolysis of hydrocarbon feedstock in user-defined pyrolysis reactor. The feedstock can be characterised by either detailed composition or by lumped substitute composition. The kinetic model involves rate controlling radical hydrogen abstractions and molecular reactions and fast radical transformations ? intra-molecular isomerizations, bond scissions and hydrogen abstractions. The key assumption in the approach above was the constant activity of the radicals acting in the hydrogen abstractions across all possible feedstocks. The 2009 version, in order to extend the model applicability upon a broader range of feedstocks, including individual hydrocarbons, unsaturated hydrocarbons and secondary feedstocks, the actual concentration of radicals had to be taken into account.
