Description
| - The phase relations in the Mn-rich part of the Sr-Mn-O system (up to Sr:Mn=1:1) are studied applying defect disorder models derived for oxygen deficient phases (hexagonal and orhorhombic SrMnO3-d and SrMn3O6-x). The models are constructed using previously reported nonstoichiometry and equilibrium data assessed from literature as well as thermochemical data obtained from DSC and low temperature calorimetry. The crystal structure of perovskite-like orthorhombic SrMnO3-d determined on a single crystal prepared by FZT was a starting-point for the thermodynamic description of this phase. Based on this thermodynamic assessment the phase stability PO2-T diagrams, oxygen nonstoichiometry and defect distribution curves are calculated for selected ratio of conservative components, namely for Sr : Mn = 1:1 and 1: 3.
