Description	The program SpreadAnalyst 1.0 is designed for an analysis and modelling the spatial spread of organisms in river networks. It has been originally developed for the spread of Eurasian beavers (Castor fiber), but it can be used for any species with similar dispersal properties. It represents the river network as a weighted graph and thus implements several graph algorithms. Apart from basic tasks (computing the nearest distances between individuals, finding the nearest neighbours, etc.), it enables one to compute the temporal variation in population size and colonized area, the portion of individuals expanding to new area, and the maximum distance between individuals. It also provides a possibility to compare the observed spread with simple individual-based model, simulating the individuals’ movement as a modified random walk on a graph with few parameters controlling dispersal and demography. It has a graphical user interface with basic visualization of the process of spread.
