Description
  • This paper describes the issues related to construction and demolition waste recycling, utilization of different types of waste and deals with the technology used in this area of waste economy. Building industry accompanies humankind throughout its history and its products are the most visible landmarks of the cultural and economic development of any society; at the same time, building processes uses and process huge amount of materials and produces large volumes of waste. At the time being, the majority of waste from the “miscellaneous” category is either stored in landfills or incinerated. This particularly applies to construction and demolition waste (CDW). The main reasons for CDW recycling include the new trends in the reduction of raw material extraction and frugal utilization of raw materials, environmental protection and increased accessibility of construction materials. There are also economical reasons for the use of modern recycled materials, which fully replaces gravel, sand and aggregate
