| - At present stage the problem of studying drought, forecasting it and evaluating its possible negative consequences on the natural environment and human activity became quite topical. The key question in this research is to find some statistical laws of manifestation of drought within specific geographical regions and assessment their impact on fluctuation yield cereal crops. Since droughts are natural phenomena, their occurrence cannot be predicted with certainty and thus they must be treated as random variables. The assessment was conducted meteorological information and historical yield data (1961-2007) of winter and spring cultures of cereal. Firstly, the manifestation of drought, as well as their spatial distribution, has been estimated by Poisson model. Secondly, effect of drought of variation on individual crop yields was estimated.
