Description
| - Milk samples from seven farms (F1 – F7) and one dairy plant in the Middle and North Bohemia were analyzed during the period of two years. The samples were collected monthly with an interruption of about five months. The total fat content (ČSN EN 1528-2) and the composition of fatty acids in milk fat were determined in all samples. Fatty acids were analyzed as methylesters after transesterification using KOH/methanol and BF3/methanol solutions under the reflux condenser (ČSN ISO 5509). The final assays of methylesters were performed by GC/FID with capillary column DB-23 (30 m x 0.25 mm I.D.). Fourteen fatty acids were quantified in each sample including linoleic acid (octadeca-9,12-dienoic acid) and alfa-linolenic acid (octadeca-9,12,15-trienoic acid). The objective of this study was to compare contents of essential fatty acids (respectively other fatty acids) in milk fat of dairy cows from different breeding conditions. The results for all analyzed samples range from 1.45% to 2.99%, mean values for in
