Description
  • The effect of non-woven fleece (NF) on the yield of potatoes by variety Impala and the effect of the term of removal of NF on the yield were studied in growing season 2006 in two localities Přerov n. L. and Praha-Suchdol. In the experiment polypropylene fleece was used to determine whether the covering of growth by it can increase the yield 60 days after planting. Also uncovered variant was used for comparison. During vegetative period the air (AT) and soil temperature (ST) were measured. For second part of the experiment two variants with different term of removal of NF (25th and 45th days after planting) were used and the yield of tubers during premature harvest (56th day after planting) was measured. Using NF increased the AT (by 2.1 and 0.7°C) and the ST (by 3.2 and 2.6°C) in appropriated localities (Přerov n. L. and Praha-Suchdol). Earlier removing of NF (25th day) increased the yield of tubers by 5.7 t.ha-1 in Praha-Suchdol, but only by 0.9 t.ha-1 in Přerov n. L. in comparison with variant wher
