Description
  • Altogether 15 species have been found in the study area; of them eight were formerly known from the Czech Republic, the remaining seven species are new for the Czech fauna. The material is rich indeed, since only 82 chamaemyiid specimens were treated (some specimens of Chamaemyia spp. were not identified). Most of the species have a broad Palaearctic distribution. However, several very rare species were also included (L. praecox, L. latifrons). In addition, actually we do not know the distribution and frequency of some rather recently described species, e.g. C. submontana. Seven species recorded here represent the first findings from the Czech Republic: C. submontana, L. argentata, L. glyphinivora, L. latifrons, L. praecox, N. obscura and N. tapiae. As for L. praecox, it is a the first record also for the genus, that being a monotypic one. Records of C. aestiva are first in Moravia. TANASIJTSHUK (1986) proposed a synonymy for N. tapiae Blanchard, 1964 with N. atratula Ratzeburg, 1844. We ca
