Description
  • A polyfactorial field trial with alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) cultivar Zuzana with higher resistence against root and head diseases was led in the research station of the University of agriculture in Prague in Červený Újezd in the years 1997-1999. The trial was cut 3 times per year. A part of the field was left without a treatment, the rest of the area was cultivated by a spike or vibration harrow to the depth 70 mm before the beginning of vegetetion period, after the 1st, 2nd or 3rd cut (a control and 8 variants). Soil bulk density after drying (Or) by physical cylinders (25 samples per 1 variant), number of plants and stems per m2 on randomly chosen areas (8times 0,125 m2) and dry mass yields (10 m2 on each plot) were measured.
